Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ today announced that the government has decided to increase the validity period of Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) qualifying certificate from 7 years to life time. Pokhriyal said, “This will be a positive step towards increasing employment opportunities for the candidates who want to make a career in the teaching field.”

According to the statement issued by the Ministry of Education, this decision has been implemented since 10 years ago. That is, those whose certificates period has been completed during these years will also now be eligible for the teacher recruitment examination.

He further said that the respective State Governments and Union Territories will take necessary action to issue or issue fresh TET certificates to those candidates whose period of 7 years has already expired.

This major change has been made in the guidelines of National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE) dated February 11, 2011, which stipulated that TET will be conducted by state governments and the validity of TET certificate will be 7 days from the date of passing TET. was the year.
