Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Placement 2020-21 has been completed across the country. But this year these institutes have seen a huge reduction in international job opportunities. Less than 200 students across the country have secured international placements or overseas jobs.
The COVID 19 pandemic has affected many regions around the world. As a result, IIT Placements 2020-21 has seen fewer international offers. Not only this, the compensation package has also come down significantly this year. Significantly, the decrease in international placements compared to the last two years is due to the pandemic and unstable travel restrictions.
IIT Placement 2020-21- Main Highlights
IIT Bombay managed to secure 58 international placements as compared to 159 last year.
IIT Gandhinagar has been on zero international placements since the pandemic began in 2020.
IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi and IIT Roorkee also saw a significant drop in foreign job offers as compared to last year.
Highest annual package in IIT Roorkee placements reduced from Rs 153 lakh per annum to Rs 69.05 lakh per annum.
The International Annual Compensation in IIT Bombay Placements has also decreased in comparison to the year 2019 and 2020.
